For those who have some spare cash, the two excursions that I would suggest are the Seaplane that will take you on a picturesque flight around the islands and drop you off in Malta for the day. Be prepared to jostle for a window seat so that you can see the spectacular coast line. The plane flies pretty low so you can see a lot of detail.

The second excursion is to hire a boat for the day. We paid out the extra and had the boat to ourselves which is terrific as the captain will take you where you wish to go, we were provided with coffee as well as afternoon tea and cooked fresh lunch of fish which has been caught that morning.
