You've presumably been questioned about this several times and I find it hard to remember how long it took me to really comprehend what that question meant.

When you first started out, were you told to generate your warm list and approach them (family, friends, work colleagues), that's needy, and it's a certain way to get those people turned off and avoiding you. Sure if you're fortunate you may have a couple of people on that list who are like minded and ready to do whatever it takes, but in all honesty, aren't there far more people on that list who switch off the minute that you start talking about your business? Learn to avoid them before they start to avoid you and think of you as the guy or gal that they least want to be around.

It's crucial for you to take control of the situation if you want to stop chasing & start attracting prospects to you - make a conscious choice to spend time and energy on people who want to move ahead with you rather than those who need so much encouragement to take a step or two that they drag you backwards constantly.
